As I write this post I am feeling soft. Humble. Honored to be of service in this role…a little fear, a lot of excitement.
When Decker mentioned “the next frontier of AMP” in his last email, I noticed my stomach drop. That sounds like a huge deal…and I am at the helm of delivering that?
Yep.
“We’ll see how authentic a man you really are,” says my inner critic.
At the same time, there is another voice, more a feeling really. A clarity that this is exactly the right place and exactly the right time for me to show up and give myself fully.
There is a reason why I am here.
An AMP workshop 5 years ago rocked my life and permanently set everything in a new direction for me. Every single relationship I have been in since that workshop have been deeper, more rewarding and more alive.
AMP is the best place I know of for me to bring my sense of purpose to reality.
The truth is, I do have a huge vision for what is possible with AMP. My purpose here is to support the men of the world to be better fathers, better brothers…better lovers.
Better in the sense that each man has more freedom, more impact, more awareness, more choice, and all this in service of their intimate relationships, their communities and their loved ones.
Men living their lives on fire!
Are you clear on your purpose?
I came across a great Ted talk the other day, and it really inspired me into an inquiry about what I am doing personally and what we are doing with AMP.
Start with The WHY.
It seems so simple. The WHY is underlying everything I do, why would it not be the first thing I talk about?
After this reframe, It is becoming the first thing I talk about.(And having big impact I’ll blog about later.)
The Why is where purpose originates. If we are not clear on why we are doing what we are doing, what we do simply doesn’t matter.
If you don’t have an answer to The Why, your purpose is to keep asking yourself that question.
Will this immediately lead to the answer? Maybe. Maybe not, but it will put you on the right track to getting there and it can be an amazing inquiry.
Oh, and a side benefit: According to the AMP women I talked to, there is almost nothing more attractive than a man clearly aligned with his purpose.
…and as for that next frontier.
So the feedback from Deckers last email was that we teased you with talk of “the next frontier” and didn’t deliver much in the way of detail.
I see how you could have gotten that impression. There really is a ton going on behind the scenes over here at AMP.
Look for an email/post from me tomorrow where i’ll get into some more of these details.
I might disagree with the man’s contention that everything begins in the limbic brain – that is the limiting argument that man is a pound of flesh, and who knows? Man may be a lot more than that.
Otherwise, why not? Makes perfect sense to operate from why than from what.
I once read that you can sell 3% of the people you can reach with advertising, simply because they are the ones who have no sales resistance. A good product with a good reason for being might sell a load more than that.
Some of us are not so much laggards as people who don’t need every new toy that comes along. And maybe can’t afford them, either.
Why is a great way to inspire interest, and how and what are important, too, because if it doesn’t deliver, it doesn’t matter why it exists, no one will want it.
Casey,
Thank you so much for doing what you’re doing…listening to your heart, and really clarifying who you are and what you want in life as a man. As a woman in this seemingly crazy world, who is given so many opportunities to get real with myself, I often think about men and where they can go to get the support they need in their transformation, too. I like being one of the women who get that…
I’m new to AMP, and sincerely look forward to what you and your man tribe come up with. I love this clarity piece and use it myself : )
Carry on, sweet heart warrior…the world needs more of this…and YOU!
With Love…Liza
“sincerely look forward to what you and your man tribe come up with” Love this and love the support and encouragement Liza. Carry on indeed 🙂
Bring on the next AMP
excited to see what comes bro
Peace x
Looking forward to the next frontier. As an alumni from the 1st NWD there is so much available from AMP’s DNA to help men. Bring the Integral model more into play in a very active way would help. We can agree that the WHY looks good from the UL, and our engagement with it (UR, the what), and the process and strategies – the how (LR) and the partnership/agreements built from all of that (LL).
From what I have learned is that all of it counts, the WHY is useless without the HOW and WHAT, and it’s cycle. What I really hope for is a full integration of this, that’s my wish, a profoundly engaged practice environment. I know tall order, but hey, love is a tall order.
All of it indeed Gregor, and Love is worth the effort.
Im pumped! Great video! Got lined back up with the why in my life, and how my why relates to having more freedom and choice with women… Got all tear-eyed and inspired.. -Hilario
ROCK. ON!
Nice post, Casey and the video reminded me of things I know that I have forgotten – will prove really handy in my business.
Excited for the future of AMP now. Are you in Boulder by any chance? I’m moving there soon for a while. Would be fun to meet.

Yes, in Boulder. Will you be around for Nov 15-17. We’re putting together a big AMP event that weekend (more details in the works 🙂
…Perhaps we could begin with a NWD?? 😛
We got a couple things cookin 😉
Casey,
Thank you for taking on this challenge and for making your WHY explicit for us. I am excited to see where this goes and to see AMP reinvigorated!
Thank you!
Scott
Sweet. Glad to see AMP is still alive and kicking.
I love the part about Martin Luther King, who gave an “I have a dream speech” not a “I have a plan speech.”
My purpose: To help coaches, authors, speakers….change makers, get clear on their purpose and reach more clients by helping with their branding and marketing.
Why? Because if they can’t reach more clients then they can’t use their unique gifts to help transform the world. Their talents and skills are wasted and they aren’t fulfilling their mission if they are just barely getting by. If they are struggling for money they cannot fully give their greatest self to the world!
Realization: I need to help my clients figure out THEIR big WHY!
Thanks Casey.
I appreciate the intention of the article, and where you are coming from.
My curiosity is what happens when the “why” dissolves?
I was at one time on the AMP mode of thinking, and have since went
a different path.
This is a question I pose, to really look into the mirror a bit deeper, and
explore what is behind this “why” that we are talking about.
What if it didn’t have anything to do with who, what, when, where, or why?
What if…..we are at the dawn of a new age, where disconnecting from the
intestinal urge to connect outside, and turning inward, to just sit with,
and observe what is, is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves?
I ask from the perspective of the “form” that happens to be a man, that used
to be attached to this way of seeking.
As long as this is coming purely from your heart and soul, keep on keeping on
brotha.
