This is a clip of Decker riffing about Shared Humanity right before lunch
during our recent “Getting Her World” Weekend. Shared Humanity
is that recognition that we’re all in this together, with other people
with their own hopes, dreams, desires, insecurities and experiences…
He’s pointing out the crazy fact that our “approach anxiety” that
comes up when we’re approaching someone we’re attracted to DISSOLVES
if we’re in another country and that person happens to speaks the same
language as us… all because we have “something in common”.
Consider this: that we ALWAYS have something in common — the shared
experience of being a Human Being– our Shared Humanity — if we are
present to this reality.
And that it’s possible to connect from that place, at any time, with ANYONE.
The next part, about being blown open by a sunrise, offers an even more
profound insight…on how we relate to our Own experience…
Leave your thoughts and reflections here…
Thanks for this vid. I was brought up this way, that we are all in the same boat, on the same planet, sharing our humanity, and I have felt what he speaks to, and I like hearing Decker speak to it so eloquently.
Something I love about this discussion is the way Decker incorporates his own twinge of sarcasm into it. In keeping with the idea that we are tapping into a “shared humanity”, keeping things light and playful is, I’m finding lately, EXTREMELY important in maintaining the “shared” part. 40 gagillion different people have given me the “We’re all in this together” or the “Everyone has his/her own agenda” lectures; I’ve even reached a point in my life where I’d say I’m starting to truly get it; hearing Decker inject sarcasm into the conversation gave me a nice reminder that sharing humanity is not a project to try out on different people or a test to study for, but a natural, common-sense way of being to just live by.
I like the content and intent of all the initial videos I’ve seen on your web site. I have been a trainer all my life and have recently gone into semi retirement and am looking for a job that involves facilitating a topic like AMP. If you thing you might me interested in someone for a Tucson, AZ chapter of AMP give me a call (520-303-5840 hm, or 480-208-8654 cl)

You give legitimacy for the inner world beauty and labor of creation. And it feels as goodness itself, the source where it comes from. An expression of sheer love.
I love the way you give voice to to many sensations that before it was just that sensations.
like the flowerwall paper feeling, y found my presence while joging at the beach few kilometers i imagine i was i giant so i do the excercise in less time and I do notice that people notice my presence more! but i forgot it, thanks for make me recall it

Thanks for the vid… I have, on very rare occasions, felt very attuned with the “something” (Field?) that provides the connection and grounding that keeps me somewhat “sane” LOL. It is when alone in serene contemplation with Nature that I feel best, and less so with humanity. People offer so many mixed messages compared to nature. Learning to build trust and effectively communicate on many different levels and in different ways will assist in my self-development. Thanks for your Programs’s insights.
I like and respect what you guys are doing, but I couldn’t help thinking about this “Bedazzled” scene:

Beautiful Decker. We all live for those moments when we crack open, when we let the truth of everything in… those little windows where a brief spark lights up the truth and for a moment we can see the scaffolding that holds up reality and we’re run through by the beauty and infinite perfection of it, and that we are a part of it.
A mentor of mine once said to me, the entire Universe and everything in it is really just your bitch for waking up.
Well said
The miracle of our everyday existence is always there for us to experience
May we be reminded of this by the steadfastness of our intention to see the beauty that surrounds us
Thank you for ringing the bell
I read your post and wished I’d written it
